With 4, 8 or 12 processors and the redundantly configurable Sun Fireplane Interconnect, the Sun Fire 4800 server delivers impressive total system performance. Full hardware redundancy and a variety of advanced mainframe-class availability features, such as Hot CPU Upgrades and Dynamic Reconfiguration, deliver exceptional availability.
The Sun Fire 4800 server can be utilized as a deskside system, placed in a Sun Fire cabinet, or mounted in an industry standard 19-inch rack.
