SUN ENTERPRISE 3500 -- MIDRANGE DESKSIDE SERVER







The Sun E3500 SunFire servers can handle the toughest of enterprise environments. This server was built to to be the backbone of many small to medium size businesses.

The E3500 holds up to eight 400MHz UltraSPARC processors and holds 8 GB of memory. The 100MHz bus can process 3.2 GB per second of data. It can be responsible for up to 2 TB of storage.

This entry level midrange server provides features usually found only in higher end and more expensive solutions.

CPU options:
Single or dual plug-able processor modules on each of 4 CPU/Memory boards.
336 MHz with 4 MB cache
400 MHz with 4 MB cache
400 MHz with 8 MB cache

Solaris 2.5.1 or later


Expansion options:
SBUS I/O board: Three SBUS slots
PCI I/O board: Two PCI slots
Graphics I/O: Two SBUS slots and one UPA Slot


Disk Bus options:
Fast Wide SCSI, Optical


Memory options:
Sixteen memory slots on each CPU/Memory board
4 GB max in 32 MB, 128 or 256 MB SIMMS.


Disk options:
8 disk bays will support up to 9GB low profile Fast Wide SCSI 2 or FCAL disks.

Note: FCAL option board must be installed to run FCAL disks.)

CPU - Processors are plug-able. Therefore, processor modules can be swapped as needed without changing the system board. If less than maximum boards were originally installed, the system can have boards added as needed.
