The Sun Fire E2900 is ideal for a wide range of compute-intensive applications.
The E2900 server scales up to 12 UltraSPARC IV processors with chip multithreading technology executing 24 simultaneous computing threads. Additional advanced features including Dynamic Reconfiguration for hot swapping processor/memory boards, and the option of mixing and managing UltraSPARC IV and UltraSPARC III processors- running at their rated speeds - in the same system.
