When reviewing alternatives for wireless deployment there is a new In the Cloud technology from Aruba Wireless that may fit the bill easily and at a very cost effective price point.
Aruba Instant Product family is a based on a virtual mobility controller and is the latest product introducted from Aruba Networks. The name Instant is fitting as you can literally set up your wireless network in mere minutes simply by connectning wirelessly to an SSID.
Aruba’s virtual mobilty controller still provides all the capablities you’d expect from an Aruba mobility controller including AP auto discovery, 801.1X authentication. Policy enforcement, rogue detection and adative radio management – which optimizes the AP’s from RF interference. It can also be centrally managed by Airwave – allowing Aruba Instant to run and be controlled at hundreds of remote locations.
Expanding your coverage area is also very simplistic as the additional AP’s are automatically uploaded.
The hardware required for the Aruba Networks Instant setup is merely Access Points. There are three versions available.
IAP-105 features two 2×2 MIMO dual band 2.4 – 2.5GHz radios with two internal antennas
IAP-93 features a single 2×2 MIMO dual band 2.4 – 2.5GHz radio with internal antennas.
IAP-92 features a single 2×2 MIMO dual band 2.4 – 2.5GHz radio with external antennas.
